BALTIMORE, May 11, 2015 – Big Run Media, a full service branding, social media marketing, and creative design agency, announced today that it has been retained to manage all social media communications for the Mississippi Blues Marathon, a multi-distance running event  in Jackson, Mississippi. Big Run Media will be responsible for the overall positioning of the brand, including the development and creation of integrated social media marketing campaigns and design.

Founded in 2007, the Mississippi Blues Marathon offers a marathon, half marathon, quarter marathon, marathon relay and kids’ one-mile run.  Featuring live blues on stages all around the race route, the Mississippi Blues Marathon was named one of the top 10 marathons for 2015 by the editors at Runner’s World magazine. As well as being a world-class event, the finisher’s medal has been honored by Marathon & Beyond magazine in their “Top 25” for five consecutive years.

A portion of the proceeds from the Mississippi Blues Marathon benefits the Mississippi Blues Commission’s Musicians Benevolent Fund. Additionally, the race brings attention to the state and its rich blues heritage. The positive economic impact of this event will be experienced by restaurants and hotels patronized by competitors and visitors. Since the inaugural race in 2008, the Mississippi Blues Marathon has donated $60,000 to the Blues Commission.
